DANIELLE MOFFAT
Tree of Knowledge
Cooling touch of voices
Lending heat to the
Swift air between us.
Unknowing contact of our eyes
Over the rush of silent pens
Whilst they divide the
Rational and the
Unreasonable.
Seconds ticking slowly
And dully through
Disparate thoughts and colliding
Fields of vision
As you talk
Blissfully
On into space.
A touch of knowledge with
The blinking of virgin lids
And a swift look away.
A question mark suspended
In between
Your world and mine.
The missing link?
Forbidden fruits ripen
And beg to be plucked from
Their
Tree.
I reach out to take one
With these
Inadequate
Words.
