Embracing night's sleepless exile, whispers
come in muffled cries of perplexity.
With affinity of solicitude,
  a frozen bishop on the River Main
    betrays in stone: there is no Ithaca.

kommt Flüstern in gedämpfte Schreie der Verwirrung.
In der Affinität von solicitude,

            auf der Flusshauptleitung im Stein: bleibt kein Ithaca.
