MICHAEL DAVID COFFEY
Winter Love
Whisper, whisper quiet notions
Catch our thoughts and let them mingle
Hear the babbling of a brook of lime green
Tears running through the dark blue light
Catching dreams, dull memories slumbering
On this idle day in golden shadows of a somber
Cloud driven day's slow remembrance
Whisper, whisper and kiss the grass
Fresh emergent blades of tender green
Sliding fingers through the soft brown leaves
Catch our hands and hold the moment
Sweet embrace of earthly cravings
Lingering here to feel the mist
The encroaching shroud of memories
Whisper, whisper and rejoice the dusk
The veil of peaceful blue black softness
Crave the night, the starlit heaven
Draw in the shadows and feel the warmth
The crisp, sharp frosty air repelled
By our warm embrace, our kisses
Here clinging to our entangled earthy love
So here in winter's softness
We warm our thoughts, mingled
In the dusky blue dark light
Vanishing in the misty shroud
Our kisses, our entwining hearts
Caught in this earth scented bed
To love and whisper misty notions
