YVONNE MORRIS
'Opportunity in a blue room'
Although you sit in a room that is blue-- and a forest of tears has lashed its angry limbs at you and bleeding thorns have torn you oh evangel and your feet have dangled like supple, slender temples until you learned to dance and dance above the fire while armored angels sang you upon their swords-- know that I honor you, my love, for you have made heaven in a world that wonders at its hate

KARIANNA JOHNSON
Dreaded Darkness
That twinkle in your eye And that loving smile Have faded into darkness The light that used to shine To tell me that I'm wanted Is gone with the darkness And now I must repress My secret love for you So that I won't receive Hateful glares from cold eyes I must remind myself That something is better than nothing But that something is so small It's like living in dusk Hoping for morning to come.
