after we were so

dear david
       I just wanted to
               reach

a dream last night
  touched
     our history
              our never

after
  we were so
       young in
             the north in
       river country
          near the
             two great mountains

                     snow
       peaks always on

  the horizon

fear abstractions - Ezra Pound

MICHAEL DAVID COFFEY
The Cauldron

Fortunes fall, oceans
   rise
Swelling the cauldrons
  of earthly ferment
It seems all life
  caught in this momentum
Lingers, longs to
belong
To recognize, be recognized
Flowing in the veins
   of endless tears
The agonies, the gasps
  the ecstasy of
Dreams born, learnt
  desired
All and more
  the cauldron roar
Lost in the stream
of toil
The need to belong
