Sounds in the Night

Hearing voices in the night
when there's no one here but me.
Hearing music in the quiet,
when nothing's playing in sight.

Holding hands over ears whispering,
"Make it stop."
Back to agenda wondering about the music,
for it comes from afar, soft and beautiful.

Perhaps the Angels are reassuring me.
The sounds come and go. I am not afraid,
only annoyed for the intrusion
into my silent and peaceful reclusive existence.

They always catch me by surprise
startling me in my quiet. Looking for logic
I find none.
Just hearing sounds in the night.

Legs

My legs demand exercise,
restless tap on the carpet.
I've been jumping up and
down on the kitchen floor
120 times only because it's
good for the circulation.

My doctor said so, a man
who sits behind a desk and
appears to have no legs.
Transmit a message to my
ponies: 'Tonight you can
take me for a walk to the bar.'
