LISA M CRONKHITE
As If You are a God
Judge me as if you're a god in the skies, pretending to be above me. You hover over my thoughts'" a dark cloud traveling with my every move'" a dying shadow nailed to my hands and feet. Your earthly offspring conceived of a polluted womb , molded me to a black future, for I have no presence in your life. Condemn me in this world with your hollow eyes, sending me through a jackknife mind, slitting hatred in my veins. I will endure the wrath you infected me with. But know this. You will never sabotage the unborn child within this injured heart.

TRINA STOLEC
Ballet
Tiny ballerina in ceramic pink tutu dances a circle in her crystal/ice world. Give a little shake, she dances in snow. Porcelain toe shoes anchored to prevent slides. Tin music plays as her tiny world inches near the edge of a hickory universe. She pirouettes to metallic notes; her tiny sphere slips over the edge. Tiny ballerina in ceramic pink tutu dances a circle. Her snow-globe world explodes. She pirouettes to hold herself together.
