Lost in Words
it doesn't get lost in words she said to him meaning the poem but it could be the trees or the green dress lost in words…. if she was a teacher she'd stand with chalk in her hand maybe a lollypop lost in words as the waiter led her to a table as her cape fell from her shoulders as she leaned forward and smiled a little bit

for Simone Weil (1909-1943)
Night, you name my haunting... sated with departures like early morning trains setting out from Dresden we recover absence in the deathless distance.

Life in The Centre of Portugal
Many wonder what family life would be like in Central Portugal and dream of going for it, moving to a rustic village spot where they can relax and slow down. Lagares is one such village, where businesses deliver items such as fresh bread, meat, fish, and groceries to the doorstep. This charming and welcoming rustic community is beautifully situated in close proximity to connecting routes leading to the rest of Central Portugal.

What might you find in this location that would prove a benefit to living there? The larger village of Travanca do Mondego nearby is only a 2 minute drive or it can be reached on foot in around ten minutes. This nearby area boasts a small shop for items not available for delivery to the doorstep, a couple of charming cafe's doubling as bars, and good primary level establishments for children.

If you enjoy activities outside there are a range of choices available to suit everyone, such as biking, horse riding and some relaxing walks amongst the unspoilt countryside. Nearby, you will come across many water sports to keep you busy, such as fishing and sailing on the wonderful lakeside created by Barragem da Aguiera dam. This location boasts an impressive amount of lakeside scenes. Along with swimming, sunbathing, taking out a dingy, or enjoying a BBQ, there is the Montebelo Aguiera lake resort and marina plus plenty of other restaurants and bars in the area.

These mountains can be got to in less than 25 min's and you could perhaps go to see the Montebelo golf course. Set between the Serra da Estrela and Serra do Caramulo ranges, granting a unique opportunity to encounter this sport amongst the most stunning scenery in Portugal.

The small town of Pedro de Alva is only four kilometres from Lagares. Here you can access all of your necessary conveniences, including schooling, health care, and cafe's, along with grocery stores, banks, shops and malls and a post office. For your urban requirements, the larger towns of Mortagua, Penacova, Santa Comba Dao, and Coimbra are just a half hour's drive away. Coimbra City offers a selection of malls with cinema's, bowling and a great choice of food in the food halls. It is a historical University City, and host to the Universidade de Coimbra. This institution of higher learning was founded in 1290. The marvellous architecture and appeal of the City will offer a variety of opportunities to explore. Nearby you is located the Roman ruins of Conimbriga open to visitors.

The famous Serra da Estrella National Park is only an hours drive from Lagares and through part of the year there are great skiing facilities open to the public. West will direct you to coastal locations where you will locate endless beaches to relax on; these include Praia da Tocha and Figueira da Foz.
