L. WARD ABEL
The Gray of Saturday Morning
The gray of Saturday morning birds that sob while water blows across a pond held back by roots by mud   and the mist of Saturday morning quiet woMcy coming in from the wedged east looms undetected immensity and melancholy.

I have many things to write unto you but   I will not write with pen and ink

Backbone ( or lack of )
A voice descends an icy vine strangulates ... and shakes the spine Though adversary defends the mind there's pain to bear one cannot find A voice descends beyond compare substantiates ... complete despair All noxious thoughts though we beware appeasing phantoms our dreams prepare A voice incapable of speech comunicates ... constructs a breach Impotent yet can often tweak the coldest nerve or blanch the meek A surreal voice devoid of friend omniscient ... to comprehend Invade pervade to break amend a scoundrels touch we sore defend A voice of ruin without impact serenity ... with jaws intact Deprived of site fraught intellect recurred demise we soon collect Recurrent voice of hollow valor osculates behinds of power Slow deflates the might of cower and all for not perceiving scholar A voice within could overcome undo connect of lip to bun Beyond the gate finds rising sun a drowning face deceiving none copyright 2003 REX ALLEN McCOY

Water flickered off a rose petal in the city of the sun. The world changed around me. I filled my cup, to overflow. In the summer rain colors brightened wildflowers tasted like moonlight and a thousand stars filled the night with your laughter. copyright 2003 TIMOTHY MICHAEL FLAHERTY
