Chiasmus Captivated Sounds in the Night

MARGARET C. RIGSBY
Sounds in the Night
Hearing voices in the night when there's no one here but me. Hearing music in the quiet, when nothing's playing in sight. Holding hands over ears whispering, "Make it stop." Back to agenda wondering about the music, for it comes from afar, soft and beautiful. Perhaps the Angels are reassuring me. The sounds come and go. I am not afraid, only annoyed for the intrusion into my silent and peaceful reclusive existence. They always catch me by surprise startling me in my quite. Looking for logic I find none. Just hearing sounds in the night.
