Imagine mysteries  so dark, so long (as a hallway is long) that discerning  them is more revenge  than discovery.   In the bad old days,  when such mysteries  were part of the rites  of the flesh, I delved  into them as we all did    (and maybe still do).   I recall being afraid  of that same skin,  the serious touch  of my own fingers  and then the  greater gratitude,  and the momentary  release of guilt.   Imagine those mysteries,  (the way they  were then) and how  they return year after  year finding rest  in our commodious  hearts.

Deerbrook Editions ANNOUNCES Where it Goes, poetry by Martina Reisz Newberry ISBN: 978-0-9904287-0-1 6 x 9 in.; 139 pages; price $17.95 This book rocked me, threw me off the chair in the little forest where I dwell. These poems made me cry, cheer, laugh, made chills run down my spine.
—Albino Carrillo
With intense human vulnerability and wondrous irony, Newberry’s matter-of-fact, descriptive storytelling renders the poignant moments of life in an earnest tone that is both sensuous and nostalgic. WHERE IT GOES, altogether luminous and universal, relates us to one another, bringing us closer to a rich understanding of our world and ourselves.
—Anne Tammel
