C.S. FUQUA
Rows

In thirteen years, she’s progressed from the first seat, front row, to last seat, back row, feet, in the beginning, dangling freely above the floor, swinging with impatience for keyboard mistakes and the rate of progression from seat to seat. In thirteen years, she’s played through minor slips of memory or finger mistakes she viewed as tragic, always aiming for perfection achieved in the last two pieces of the last recital before moving beyond the trials of childhood.

C.S. FUQUA
Opportunity

He calls five weeks after to say happy birthday, leaving a message that rambles on about getting old, arthritis, colds, and luck enough to be alive. At his age, it’s easy to forget things like children, even after fiftyfour opportunities.

The Electronic Frontier Alliance is a grassroots network of community and campus organizations
across the United States working to educate our neighbors about the importance of digital rights.
Participation is open to any group that endorses our simple principles.

Electronic Frontier Alliance Principles

As a member organization of the EFA, we believe that technology should support the intellectual
freedom at the heart of a democratic society. In the digital age, that entails advancing:

Free Expression:
People should be able to speak their minds to whoever will listen.

Security:
Technology should be trustworthy and answer to its users.

Privacy:
Technology should allow private and anonymous speech, and allow users to set their own parameters
about what to share with whom.

Creativity:
Technology should promote progress by allowing people to build on the ideas, creations, and
inventions of others.

Access to Knowledge:
Curiosity should be rewarded, not stifled.

We uphold these principles by fighting for transparency and freedom in culture, code, and law.
