Zoltán Böszörményi
On the Periphery of the Universe

translated by Paul Sohar (Az universum permen) in the middle of a galaxy light years away infinity is laughing loudly with a metallic ring in the foggy clearing a palm tree stands on it a russet feathered bird warbles with pure and heart-wrenching sentiment you forget all unhappy thoughts and the frozen solitude of the ever-expanding space along with tomorrow’s work you don’t even notice how the gravitational force of your heart bends the space-time continuum you remain lost in daydreams on the periphery of the universe listening to the unselfconscious song of the russet feathered bird
