Missing

Sometimes, the missing return to us this way: The news reports call them “human remains,” Unidentifiable, anonymous “human remains,” Like the ones they found out by the I-89 Near Exit 16, one of the busiest in the state, But with dental records they finally found him, Missing three years now, walked away from The local hospital, against his doctor’s advice; Imagine the hundreds of vehicles wheeling by, The road crews working along there, and The snowplows winging through, three years Worth, and all along he was there, missing, Alone there, transforming from himself to Human remains, a brief mystery to a case Solved, an apparent suicide no one noticed, No suicide note, except for his “human remains” That none of us noticed for a very long time.
