Gold

In the folds of my mother’s hair you’ll find strands of gold knitted like threads of fine silken chains having held every bequeathed stone like a memory that cannot be written neither forgotten, nor passed over to, but you did just so peace was shared, the one we’d probably never know from the platoons of words spoken by generations past. You teach us to suffer the unseen light that will be cut from the rocks of every drop of truth that should not have been uttered, yet your hair glistens a crown of copper – fading odour of weakening henna, the same orange on our palms when intensities are nothing but washed up hysteria.

Hayaat

The kettle's spout has grown cobwebs. Where skies have been torn by soars of steely eyed hunter birds, spiders don't walk on paddy fields of grains they will orbit after harvest in warm sacks. Runes have covered every piece of furniture, shirts hang limply over doors, lethargy has pressed over their creases like an iron's tip. News of a member's passing invites envy, for the warmth of the sun will never penetrate their skins again. Alternate joy awaits. We've been burning a sage in clumps for the guilt of an ego having stopped our feet has fear of visits that will make questions difficult to answer. Such are secrets like the vicious glares of a falcon on its prey. Our homes are made of molten bricks: an eternal warmth envelops. Our smiles holding walls with bare hands - how masterfully we keep lava contained.
